Correos de Chile, also known as CorreosChile or ChilePost (not to be confused with the private mail and courier company ChilePost), is a state-owned and independent company in Chile that provides national and international courier services, money transfers, and mailing as well as the Universal Postal Service's functions.
The current state-owned enterprise was established by the DFL 10, December 24, 1981, dissolving the previous SOE, separating mailing and Telex services, and founding Telex-Chile (that was extinguished as a service following the rise of the internet, but still exists legally as enterprise, providing other telecommunications services). Its history can be traced back to the establishment of the first postal service in the Captaincy General of Chile in 1747. The Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications is in charge of its administration.
