A former Chinese state-owned shipping conglomerate, China Shipping Group Company, Limited was formerly known as China Shipping (Group) Company. It is now one of the intermediate holding companies for another Chinese state-owned conglomerate, China COSCO Shipping. China COSCO Shipping was created when China Shipping Group and China Ocean Shipping Company (COSCO) merged to form a new parent company for the two conglomerates.

Oil tankers, passenger ships, and container ships were China Shipping Group's main business. Ship and Terminal management, finance and investment, engineering, human resources, trading, and information technology were all related businesses.
