The Estonian shipping company Eesti Merelaevandus, also known as ESCO, operates eight multipurpose dry cargo and container ships at the moment. First Baltic Shipmanagement is in charge of the ships' technical management. The Tschudi Group owns the business, which it purchased from the Estonian government in 1997. The company was a member of the Soviet Union's Merchant Fleet from 1940 to 1991.
ESCO was also a co-founder of Tallink and Estline, where it held sole ownership for a time.
The conclusion of the bankruptcy proceedings in 2019 resulted in the company's removal from the business register.
