The Russian national postal service is an Aktsionernoye Obschestvo known as Russian Post. In Russia, the company is in charge of mailing mail and issuing postage stamps. With its headquarters in Moscow, Russian Post employs approximately 390,000 people and operates over 42,000 post offices. More than 54 million packages and more than 100 million remittances were delivered by the Russian Post in 2012, accounting for more than 2.4 billion pieces of mail. The Russian Post was included on a list of so-called strategic businesses in a presidential decree signed by President Vladimir Putin in March 2013.

The "Pochta Bank" is 49.99% owned by Russian Post.

Post of Crimea, a separate business, is in charge of providing postal services in Crimea.
